  • The percentage of people over age 65 who are working is at a record high, with over 1/3 of men and over 1/4 of women aged 65-69 holding jobs. Of those 75 years old and over, 1 in 9 men and 1 in 20 women are employed. Meanwhile, the percentage of people younger than 64 with jobs has fallen, with those aged 25-54 down most. "This aging-but-not-yet-aged segment of the baby boomer class can’t afford to retire," says economist David Rosenberg.  [View news story]
when folks have a plan and follow the plan they can retire if they want to....this trend is not new and shows how there is a lack of knowledge about saving, spending, and investing in our nation.....since I am of libertarian capitalist beliefs, everyone is responsible for their own destiny. When ignored, when an insipidice reliance on any government entity is prevelant, then this is what happens I am afraid.

  • Spanish PM Mariano Rajoy rejects the idea that the nation's banks should go cap in hand to the EU bailout fund, an idea that Francois Hollande apparently floated, although Rajoy is skeptical that he did. Another report says Spain turned down EU pressure to accept an IMF credit line to help strengthen the banks.  [View news story]

I am not going to bother. He is completely wrong but it his opinion. Thats fine, but to tell folks to sell T is irresponsible in my opinion. Plus he never answered a question I left for him about NLY.....so obviously he has some issues to resolve.

Hi Rich, I understand that the health of a CEO is fair game just as the compensation issue (which has become "fairer" game only in the last 4 years) however to "advise" investors to dump shares and buy something else is offensive to me, and could be detremental to someones finances. It is simply wrong.

Yes I do support NLY and give all of the facts, not just the ones that suit my opinion. I believe there is an immense lack of understanding about NLY and mREITs in general, so I will continue to write about it and give the positive side.

Everyone is entitled to their opinion, and their convictions as long as it is done in a onstructive way....and I have been guilty of it as well, but I also try to respond to every query. Some folks (not necessarily the ones who wrote the articles noted) simply ignore an honest question if it does not fit into their opinion.

I wont do that, ever, unless someone gets obnoxious.....so it's all fair game in the end, just as my opinions are.

Keep an eye on NLY and lets see how it turns out.

Your comment is duly noted and always respected!
